Hy guys,I need some advices about Vmax phase 4 chips,I have recived an ECU with genuine phase 4 chips and a 3 bar MAP sensor. From that I know this chips can controll 1,7 bar of boost and 2.0 bar overboost,it is wright? Now my engine is prepered for stage 2,now I'm runing stage 2 chips from EDS,I want to know if I can use this ECU with the vmax phase 4 chips and that 3 bar MAP sensor but with the boost pressure for phase 2,that means 0,9 bar of boost?Or it will be much better to put the EDS phase 2 chips in this ECU?After I will get bigger injectors, now I'm runing Saab reds and Webber Cossie fpr,I want to increase the pressure at 1,1 bar like it's the phase 3 from Vmax,is it possible?Thank's guys in advance

I have mounted the ECU with vmax phase 4 chips and the engine doesn't have the wright idle,it is oscilating,I have increased the fuel pressure with almost 1 bar on idle and the engine starts very well but after a few seconds he stops....any advices about this things, what can I do?

see Regal about info and spec on EDS Phase4
Regal AutoSports C20LET Phase Kits

Otherwise, if I've read your post correctly you have a C20LET running EDS Phase2 (which I presume you have adjustable FPR and intercooler).
If you unplug your EDS Phase2 ECU and plug in your VMAX Evo4 ECU the engine will still work (even if it has a 3bar MAP sensor fitted inside).
Don't start swapping EEPROMs from ECU to another - as you haven't mentioned which type of ECU you have (ie PJ, PK or HD), as the ECU may start producing ECU warning light (ECU error due to incorrect CRC checksum checks).

> I have increased the fuel pressure with almost 1 bar on idle
No matter what size of injectors you have fitted, set the fuel pressure to 3bar with the vac hose off (and ideally block the hose and the nozzle on the FPR too). This is a good place to start. Then fit a wide-band OS and see what the Air/Fuel Ratio is (should be 14.7, but anything between 13-15 will do). This will tell if your fuel pump, FPR and injectors are doing ok (at idle).

Thank's mate for your answer.I did exactely what you said,I unpluged the ECU with phase 2 chips from EDS and plug the ECU with Vmax chips,I have started the engine but like I have said, the idle was not good and the engine doesen't runned on all 4 pistons,or maybe they worked all 4 but the sound was very strange. The FPR I have set it like you have said,is it 3 bar without vacuum hose and something around 2,3 bar with vacuum on on idle. You advice me to put a wideband and after that to put again the ECU with Vmax chips and see what is the AFR,I understood corectley?Thank's again mate

I presume the car ran perfectly (idles ok) with EDS Phase2 ECU fitted?
If so when did you fit the Saab Red BOSCH injectors and Webber Cossie FPR? When Phase2 was used or when VMAX Evo4 ECU (ie you fitted new things all at once?)?
VMAX Evo4 (or any after market 'super' chips) will make the engine idle run fine, it shouldn't make run lumpy etc, as these are still aimed at road cars (ie car will pass its emissions and MoT etc).

> You advice me to put a wideband and after that to put again the ECU with Vmax chips and see what is the AFR,I understood corectley?
If you have a wideband OS to hand, then do both, ie fit Phase2 and set FPR to 3bar (vac hose off) and you should read between 13-15 A/F ratio (also note if the car runs idle ok)
Then fit the VMAM Evo4 ECU and do the same.

So,I have put the Saab red injectors and Webber adjustable FPR set at 3 bar without vacuum like you have said and after that I have put the EDS phase 2 chips, from when I start the engine for the first time with the EDS chips it was everything ok and the engine runs well,I have this spec for 3 monts or more and everything is ok.Now I have another ECU with the Vmax phase 4 chips and I just changed the ECU to see how is the Vmax chips and when I start the engine the idle was lumpy and after that I have increased the fuel pressure because the guy wich gaved me the ECU has told me that he had a normal idle only with 470cc injectors and fuel pressure set at 4,5 bar at idle and that's way I have incresed the fuel pressure but after that the engine was starting well and after a few seconds he stops. After that I have put the ECU with EDS chips and set up the fpr back at 3 bar without vacuum and everythung is ok.What can be the problem with the Vmax chips and that ECU?I will also try to buy an AEM UEGO wideband kit but till then what I can do to run with the Vmax ECU?Thank's again mate

As the engine works with EDS Phase 2 chips and with Saab red injectors and Webber FPR then there can't be anything wrong with the engine.
Even using the VMAX Evo4 chips with Saab red injectors, with 3bar (vac hose disconnected) the engine should idle.
You only need to increase the fuel pressure when you are wide open throttle, ie at max power to squirt in the extra fuel needed to get the bigger BHP figures.

I have EDS Phase3 with Saab Red injectors and adjustable FRP and have set it to 3bar (with vac hose off). I had a wide-band OS and on the rolling road the engine idle'd fine and didn't stall. The fuel pressure measured about 2.6bar with vac hose on at idle with Air/Fuel ratio between 13-15 (which is good, the ideal is 14.7). This still produced between 10-11 Air/Fuel ratio on max power and my fuel pressure gauge was measuring about 3.4bar (with vac hose on) - so running bigger 470cc injectors at 4.5bar seems WAY too much and sounds like it will be over fuelling.

You need to set your FPR at 3bar (vac hose off), with VMAX Evo4 ECU fitted and then using a wide-band OS see what air/fuel ratio you are getting at idle. It should be between 13-15.
If it doesn't idle, then there must be something wrong with the Evo4 chips - these are genuine chips or copies?

I understand mate, the chips are genuine, they was been bought from Vmax, the MAP sensor as well and finally the ECU was sent to them to mount the chips and the MAP sensor,so there are not some copies or stuff like this.I will try with a wideband and see what is the AFR then. Many thank's mate for your help

Are you sure you have VMX Evo4 chips (280bhp) in there? You mentioned that a new MAP sensor was fitted in the ECU. The only VMAX chips that needed that was Evo6 (355bhp). Evo4 chips require no modifications in the ECU (apart from the switch that enables Evo4 software (280bhp) or not (standard 200bhp)).

Are there any VMAX retailers in Romania?
If not you need to contact VMAX themselves and see if they have any advice (http://www.vmax.de/)
In the UK we have Wallace Performance | Vehicle Specific Tuning Packages

I don't know exactely how are the Vmax phase chips,I now that those are something around 370bhp,there are with 1,7 bar boost and that's way the MAP sensor was changed with a 3 bar one.In Romania aren't any Vmax retailers.Meanwhile I have ordered an AEM UEGO wideband kit and I will see how is the AFR with it and I will contact the Vmax from Germany to ask them some details because they have mounted the MAP sensor and chips in the ECU...Many thank's mate for all your help.
P.S:I have sent you a pm

@nigelhe:yes mate, you have wright, the chips are made for big injectors and that's way is needed at least 470cc injectors and 4 bar fpr to have a good idle.I had opened the ECU and on the chips is writen Nova Sportiva GT 500 and was mounted by Vmax in Germany and the MAP sensor is 440kPa.Maybe are some guys who know something about this chips...

@Adam:the car is running great now on EDS phase 2 chips,I solved the problem with the boost and the check engine,is running great but I will buy a genuine Vmax EVO 310 chips and I will put with the 470cc injectors and boost set at 1 bar and I hope it will run very good in this configuration.

The MAP sensor didn't read corectely the pressure,I've changed the ECU and it's working good now and after that I have changed the MAP sensor in the original ECU and the problem is solved.I don't know why but sudenley the MAP sensor didn't read the pressure corectley but only after 0,5 bar,at low pressures was reading ok.I think maybe because are old and that's way the MAP sensor was geting faulty...

I don't know exactely because a friend of mine did it,he is with the electronicaly parts and he changed it but the MAP is the stock one not an uprated one.I have also a little board for tricking the MAP sensor to read high boost pressures but that is not mounted on the ECU because I don't need it yet. With that little board that I have you can trick the MAP sensor to read 2 bar of boost but I don't know excately how to mount it honestley.
