My old man has a vectra 2.2 sri 150. Hes short on power and bored so looking into tuning. I reckon tuning the 2.2 eco****e isnt worthwhile. What are the possibilities re enigines? Ive come up with three but need some help.
1) If he were the trade it in for a 2.0 sri 140, does this x20xe share a common bottom end with the c20xe? ie can the cosworth designed head be bolted onto the existing bottom end to give 150 with the ready possibility for more?
2) Given the above is correct, I presume the c20let head could also be bolted on complete with turbo etc, also would the engine mounts be the same allowing a complete engine swap with the six speed box?
3) Are the head bolt and cylinder spacings the same in the 2.2 bottom end as in the 2.0? Ie could both the above conversions be carried out on the 2.2 bottom end? to give a 2.2xe or let engine.
I feel all of these will give better return for money than the ecotec head and anti emissions computer.
