gave the car a bit of a boot today and then when I tried putting it in 1st again, it crawled off, and stunk of clutch , same in 2nd too. So i think i need a new clutch. Or could it be anything else?
How much am I looking at for a new clutch? and shall I fit it myself or just get a garage to do it?

I got a clutch for £92.
What year is your car? There are two types or gearboxes/flywheels. One has a flat flywheel and a plate under it that you can take off to get the clutch out that way.
The other doesnt and you have to take off the box.

Mine was the early type one and I did it myself first time in about 2 hours.

Im not sure what year it is, Ive put the ex in my corsa. is there a way i can check the year? or type?

take the flywheel inspection plate off the bottom of the gearbox, and you'l soom tell if it s a pot type flywheel as the clutch will be hardly visible,i'm very much doubting that an xe will have a pot type though, so you should be ok

check your clutch is adjusted properly first though
