the car sounds like a wrc rally car when i boost and then lift off the gas, u know the funyn sound those wrc cars make..i dunno whats causing it to sound like that? may be cool in a rally car but it ****ing doing my head in!!

wastegate chatter. hear it a bit with induction kits fitted, yours sounds worse though.

mine is running a panel filter and is a stock one at that...someone suggested it could be the re circ valve?

If the re-circ dump valve has been disconnected the boost has no-where to go when you lift off, apart from through the wastegate, hence the chatter. If you haven't disconnected check the vacuum pipe from the inlet to the valve.

I think the chatter is better than a valve.

Surely the chatter is a bad thing. Doesn't it mean the penny valve is slapping against the wastegate hole more than it needs to, thus leading to premature wastegate / penny valve failure?

Mine does this as well.I posted a tread about it 2 weeks ago.If you boost then lift of but still feathering the throtle the wastegate flutters,then the dump valve goes off.bo bo bo bo bo bo tiss
