Isn't there a link on here somewhere about a tuning division of GM getting 800BHP out of the 2.2 Vauxhall engine?
Everyone states that the 2.2 is a rather toss engine but they managed to get a reliable 800BHP in a drag on some surprisingly stock components ... it's a good read.

The X22XE in the Sintra & Frontera is cam BELT driven, looks just like the X18XE & X20XEV and in esseance is exaclty the same but for the stroke length.
