was driving along tonight and put the foot down, oil light came on and major loss in power, due to were i was i couldnt just pull over and stop, u could here what sounded like tappets ticking really badly, finally got to pull over and turned engine off left it for a minute then restarted it, still had a really bad ticking noise but no light so left the engine idleing for about 10 minutes, slowly the noise went away till it sounded like only 1 tappit was still tapping which eventually went quite as well, can anyone say what the problem is? i know my oil is a little over the max mark could this be the problem? tappet noise is still there a little would dumping the new oil i added last week and flushing the engine out help?
