ok folks im currently running a full sportex system with midbox and Decat pipe, however if i was to replace the midbox with a narrower bit of pipe would i gain a sweeter note or jus a shedload of illegal noise? also would a gain a teensy amount more power in doing this,

a little louder outside, a lot louder inside, I like to think of the midbox as the "cabin silencer".
I don't think you'd like it, and you probably wouldnt notice any gains.
My Astra had more exhuasts that I've had hot dinners, so I know what Im on about lmao

i think it will lose you power. i personally wouldnt bother because chances are you will end up with a sound worse than before and you would lose performance too
