does any 1 know on a mk2 astra gte 8v the little pipe going from the throttle body to the top of the thermostat housing is for and is it needed,because i had to put a new thermostat housing on the gte of a 2.0l belmont and it didnt have the connection on the housing for this pipe.

its to bleed the cooling system.on a thrash you will get localised boiling which form air pockets.these pockets of air are bleed out the the header tank via the throttle body.if they arent then the radiater with become air locked and you will start having over heating probs.a good mod is to join the two pipes on the throttle body so that the tb isnt heated.dont connect it to the breather pipe from the rocker cover.

thing is m8 on the housing its got an allen key screw in were the connection 4 the pipe should be and i cant get this out,any ideas m8
