The theft of car audio and satellite navigation equipment is on the increase.

A team of three enthusiasts have created a unique website for the car audio community which allows people to register the details of their valuable equipment on a secure database, allowing potential buyers to check the authenticity of a piece of kit before buying it.

The aim is to make it so hard for thieves to sell stolen equipment, that your valuable audio and navigation equipment becomes much less of a tempting target.

Any questions? email ben@iceregister.co.uk or james@iceregister.co.uk, and we'll get back to you ASAP.

It's free to join, so sign up today at www.iceregister.co.uk!

good idea mate, so what happens if someone comes across a stolen unit???
They wipe it off and buy it! lmao (sorry my smutty mind couldn't resist!)

Great idea and I certainly wouldn't buy a stolen unit, but from the other point of view, if I was scummy - it's a powerful bargaining tool! 'Thats a stolen stereo' - 'well I'll knock £50 off'.

someone tried to steal my BIG ice unit out of my seicento (when i had it, my apologies), just the kit alone was over £800 fitted by myself! but in prying the monkey metal doors popped a window and then saw an enraged teenager charging out of the front door with a 24oz junior length baseball bat in his boxer mwuahaha. Methinks that a mixture of this idea and amping up your security is the way forward!
lil tips that i have incorporated in my tig are mounted amps and subs. My sub box was put together IN my boot and is actually near enough impossible to fit out of the tiny tig boot assembled! its also mounted with 2 brackets and my amp is mounted to my rear seats using torx bolts :p. Factory alarm at the moment but the clifford is spawning as we speak,

I cant choose between the 'warn and burn' undersill flame throwers or the 'no warn and fry' electro shock system :p

if only! !peace!
