right... after alot of poncing about trying to get a 1.4 or 1.6 for my corsa, i have decided to go for something a bit better:D

now, i understand that i will need to run a 20NE with some kind of turbo on the other end of it. i seem to remember matheus saying that it would be possible to get hold of a kit, and get it shipped over for around £300, or, i was looking at the Kit forsale at the moment by golddust. what i want to know is, what else would i need to change to be able to get this to work? do i need to get uprated injectors, say from an XE or LET? do i need to run a special managment system to take effect of the extra air that will be gettin in there?... its also confusing.... help me see the light:)

Depends how much do you want/have to spend for the complete installation and what will be your plans for further upgrades.

How much power do you want.

dont really have alot of money to do it, but i got from now till june to do it.... i was thinking of looking at putting a 16V head on the NE. obviously this would invlove pocketing the pistons etc.

what i want to know for now is how it works, and how to connect it all up. where the oil cooler goes, where the induction? pipes go? i would like to get it up and runnig as a basic setup for starters and then build on that.

any more ideas?
I've been there in the past.
It's not easy to turbocharge such an engine by spending just a few hundred pounds. Not properly, anyway

The 2.08V is not a bad start, as it pulls better than a 16v at low revs (by design) so off-boost performance could be better than that of an XE
On-boost, there's no much difference between 16v and 8v, especially if you flow the 8v head

You will need to adjust the ignition for on-boost
Also the fuelling - both max and transitions. Turbo spoolup and lag can be sensitive to these two.
Lowering the CR is another sticky point. Either you go for proper forged low-comp pistons, or you're botching it up
Intercooling is another bitch.
Inlet and exhaust manifold modifications go without saying
Proper oil and (ideally) water flow will be added headaches

Once you get this stuff right, then the gearbox ratios will feel funny, as the new power delivery wont fit them.
Etc etc...

Its not a viable option really, not on a budget anyhow, this is why courtney charge about £3000,you get quite a lot of kit for your £3000.
You only have a 1.2 12v anyway, just put a standard C20XE in it,that will be plenty fast enough for you,or even a 2ltr 8v lump would let you play with some much more expensive cars, you can pick an 8v lump up for £200,half the price of a decent 16v,and scrap yards are full of 8v's.
Why are you so dead set on aturbo anyway In my opinion a NA car is much nicer to drive as they have much better spread of torque, especially an 8v,lots of low down torque.
You could probably buy and fit a 2ltr 8v and f20 box for £500.
Try and get the engine from a mk2 cav sri 130,130 bhp as standard.

how would i rectify the problem of needing to adjust the igntion on boost?
You need to reprogram the ECU one way or another
In the good ol' days ignition was more mechanical and a fifth injector covered the extra fuelling needs (more or less, to some extendlmao )
You also need an air flow meter that understands boost

Ideally you move to fully programmable ECUs -> not really viable on an old 2.0 8v, eh?

But if you want to reinvent the wheel, it'll costya <sucks air through his teeth>

the SEH/SER is another option thats been/being looked at but is more an alternative if turboing the 8v is gonna be a big no no in terms of cost.....
