I keep hearing some rear end squeeking every so often when breaking, and also have the 'knocking' problem first thing in the morning, so i have come to the conclusion that i need to replace the shoes.

Any advice on swapping them over?

Got told the other day that i needed to whack off the rear drum cover as it doesnt come off easy, any other tips?

Also, is there any advantage of different makes of shoes?

I've replaced the front pads recently with Ferrodo pads, and I was planning on getting Ferrodo shoes for the rear, but are there any others that are better? What are halfords ones like?

Cheers

IF YOU HAVE AUTO ADJUSTERS MAKES SURE YOU UNWIND THE ADJUSTER THRU THE FRONT OF THE DRUM ITS KIND OF STAR SHAPED. AS THE DRUM WONT COME OFF
IF U GET A WEAR RIDGE YOU MAY STILL HAVE TO PRISE OFF DRUM
PRISE RATHER THAN HAMMER!!!!!!!!!

FERRODO ARE GOOD SO ARE HALFORDS , ANY BRAND NAME DONT USE A CHEAP NAME
GET WHAT U PAY FOR IN MY EXPERIENCE
