my cav turbo runs like a bag of spanners when its first started up!!!
it sounds like its running on 3 cylinders and if you put your foot on the throttle it takes a while to "respond"... i have changed the plugs to ngk platinums and have replaced the coolant temp sensor!! once its warmed up the car is fine, its just for the first 5 minutes after starting the engine.....
someone suggested the throttle pot, but @£45 isn't a cheap guess..

any help would be appreciated

1) clean out the 2 breather hoses at the back of the rocker cover with carb cleaner
2) ensure all air intake pipes and joins are tight, no splits etc and all jubille clips are done up.
3) inspect or renew spark plugs (check gap 1st), HT lead, inside dizzy cap and rotor arm. They are mostly likly canidates for rough running.
4) renew air filter
5) spray carb cleaner and clean the diposts off the buttefly plate and gernally around the throttle body.
