I have a spare GTE front bumper lying around at home and was thinking about cutting out the section where the number plate is and then replacing it with mesh, and then relocating the number plate to one side. Does anyone think this would look any good or is it going to be to OTT?? I have seen it done once, but can't remember wether I liked it or not. Anyone got any piccys of anything similar?

I have done this to my car and I think it works very well I get lots of people asking me what bumper it is and they are always very supprised when I tell them if you give me your e-mail adress I'll send you a picture

ive done it as well mate but kept my plate in the centre. go on the 8vastra link at bottom for more piccs of it. hope this helps.

Looking pretty mad...
I think i'll have a go myself over the weekend.
Any tips on the best way of cutting out the centre section without doing too much damage. I think I'm going to need more than my trusty dremel!!

What is the best way of stripping the paint back, ready for priming. Obviously can't use Nitromors as it will melt the bumper. Is it just an attack it with the sander job ?!? Or is there an easier way???
