I have an 04 Corsa, and want to do some oil change myself ... is it difficult and can I reach the bolt easily? And what sort of tools do I need?

Shouldn't be difficult in theory. I was planning one on the Astra last W/E. I say "in theory" as my filter would NOT unscrew..not by hand, nor chain wrench, nor one of those rubber "grip" things you can get instead of the chain wrench.

I'm going to have another crack tomorrow..I'm running a dented oil filter now... Not that the car seems bothered.

Still..got the oil, got a filter for £2.50, got wheel ramps. Now for a nice day during the long weekend.:D

You need ramps/trolly jack, a socket set, an oil filter wrench, a bucket or tub.

I always bash a screwdriver through the filter (using a hammer to punch it through) and use the screwdriver to twist the filter off. Easy.

I'd rather not have a cheapo oil filter half screwed on and my sump bolt cross threaded back in with an impact gun.
Well dont do the job yourself then :p
