TBH - that looks like a software issue at your end.
Are you getting gibberish at the bottom of the login page? If so, click refrash till it goes and try again.

the chatroom log in appears twice

If you close the chat and try to return it doesn't seem to let you. The Enter Chat button isn't re enabled/the chat cleared from memory.
Or at least here with JRE 1.4.1

Is there anyway to connect to the chat using an IRC client Mike?.. I can't get java working on this comp...

It is crashing my browser (IE6 with Sun Java plug-in) When you click the link it spawns a new window then closes all IE windows that are open.
EDIT: Problem was a bad install of JVM at my end, sorted now.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
