Ok heres the Gen...
The Nova GTE is an phase one on an H plate, fitted with a cobra alarm immob and A little black key immob too.

I moved it a little while ago to the top of my drive whilst I worked on my Opel. Two hours later I got back in the Nova turned the key and nothing! The fuelpump primed and the lights came on on the dash but It wouldn't turn at all.

Suspecting it was the Immobilised I bypassed a connection on the fuelpump and the coil. Now the pump will prime and there will be a kind of clicking noise like the starters trying to engage but cant???? Also the Rev counter goes schizo.

Any Ideas? I know I'm out of em!

I've tried it with a fully charged battery to no avail:(

Is there any tests I could do with a multi meter on the starter?

Not from the sound of it, I'm going to 'pop' in the started from my 1.6 Kadett as I know that works, looks like a process of elimination:(

Before you do that put a jump lead from the battery negative to the engine block and see if it turns over then.
I had the very same problem as you and it was a bad earth strap.

yeah do that. and also try rocking it in gear then turning it over. mine got stuck and that freed it up. didnt last much longer like and i had to get a new starter but hey.
