if i fit astra gte front discs and calipers, will the brake bias be massively out? would it be better to fit the normal size nova gte vented discs and calipers?

If you fit Astra front brakes (256mm discs/ATE calipers), you're braking will improve tenfold. There is no bias setup for the front brakes, only the rear.
If you fit Astra discs to the rear, then you have to start worrying about brake bias :)
If you haven't got one already, it isn't totally necessary, but a 200mm brake servo from a Nova GTE/GSi/diesel would make a big difference to the braking force over the smaller 180mm servo aswell :)

Your brake bias will be unafected.
For best results, as mentioned, fit the bigger brake servo as found in the GTE/GSi models.
