Took her in last Wednesday for MOT (£39- rip off), and it failed. Reason being:

-Play in both track rod ends
-Excessive play in both rear wheel bearings
-Exhaust not connected to gearbox mount.

He was also concerned about the volume of my exhaust, but said he'd let it go because I used to work there.

Sorted the above at the weekend, and I'm happy to say it passed it's re-test just 10 mins ago. So that's another years fun to be had. What a weight of my mind too.

With regard to exhaust, my tester had the old MOT rule book out. He started proudly reciting the rules to me about how the exhaust volume should not exceed that of an original fitment silencer, and all this rubbish. I sheepishly told him the last tester let it through, and he said he'd do me a favour this time.
