Its a 1.3SR, used to be in my mates immaculate nova, but its been laying in his garage for the last 3 years. Its in mint condition, nothing a good cleaning wont help. It was rebuilt in 1998, and only did about 8,000 miles before it was removed (he now has a 2.0L running on 48's)

The bottom end is lightened and balenced, however the top end is standard.

I plan to fit a 32/34 webber carb, port/polish the head, and possibly add a magnex SS manifold to match my full system...

I have set aside a budget for the engine of £800, so would there be anything else worth doing? I dont want it to run very lumpy, and it is already very responsive!

My aged memory tells me a company called Peter Maiden Components used to do a lot of kits for the 1.3SR engines - don't know if they are still in business though ?

Just did a quick search for Peter maiden on Google, and guess who's name came up ?

Ha ha I'm so pleased my page comes up high like that.

Yeah, try to avoid them. There's not much wrong with their kit, but it's the stupid sales kids they employ.
