I have a Astra GSI with a Calibra turbo engine fitted and my ECU light has come on, how do i read / find the fault code as its just on all the time ?

go to the Archived forums then to Mechanical & Electrical then to ECU faults

plug tech 1 in and go from there!

but that costs you money, my Vx dealer charge almost £50 to plug in the Tech1.

Do the same job for free with a paper clip.

With new cars you have to take em to your dealer, get them to read and clear the fault code via computer.....diagnostic check carried out........

Thats right but I don't know when this break year was.
It seems t be different on different models.
But for in this case it s for a C20LET engine, and all C20LET's use Motronic 2.7 so they ALL can be read via paper clip.

hmm not to sure then :confused: , normal dealer wouldnt do that then if its a diff engine fitted ne ways ???.........has that all started since the engine was replaced ??? maybe that could be ur problem , if its an amber light ur car is fine to drive...if red its not.........
