Went for a drive after work. The car felt quicker in 2nd gear than it has since I bought it. Admittedly it was in 2WD but it felt more urgent and 2nd gear felt like what I thought all the gears should be. After that 3rd and fourth felt quite flat and like I had about 1000rpm of power throughout the whole rev range. Which is pretty shite.

I'm just wondering whether the actuator is a bit plop or whether I still don't know where my power is. New to turbos as I am I still don't think that's the case, it's not Where's Wally? after all.

What do they cost to replace?

Yeah fit a gauge.

Maybe a weak actuator.

It's also possible that the induction temp is too high which can seriously reduce the torque.
This can happen if

  • You have been sat in traffic (and worse if you have a cone filter)
  • Have been driving it hard
If this is the case, a new intercooler is the answer

Route one was going to be a boost gauge, FMIC and panel filter but I don't think I will be doing that any time soon.
