Well after reading a post on the morning about the Gumball 3000 rally by Splinter, I threw some cloths on phoned up a few mates and we were one our way up to London in no time to catch the action.

We decided to go on the train to miss all the traffic which paid off in the end, read on...

Got there around
2:45 and my god were there some nice cars or what!
I also have to report a siting of Martine McCutcheon and Tim Westwood # Cough [email protected] # which i'm not all that proud of.

So we looked around a bit taking pictures where we could squeezing through the crowds. I spoke to a few of the drivers one of whom was driving a Dodge Viper who I asked what route they were taking, which they were not meant to tell us due to it being a secret?

So anyway we stayed to watch the start as the first pack of cars left the starting grid and then myself and my mate decided to run back to Charring Cross train station to get back to my car in hope of catching up with the Gumballers on the motorway.

We got off the train and ran to my car and drove to the M20 Sidcup bypass via Chislehurst over the A20 form
London where I saw a Police car sitting on the roundabout obviously waiting for the Gumballers.

I cruised at about 60mph for a few minutes on the M20 and sure enough what I believe to be the first of the Gumballers passed me along with a Police escort. So speaking to the Gumballer in
London paid off as I was now in convoy with millions of pounds worth of exotic motor cars.

I then cruised with the Gumballers, of those not exceeding the speed limit including a few Ferraris, Lambos, BMW's, Merc’s, and a nice Noble which can be seen in the picture with the Porsche in.

Every bridge over the motorway we past had spectators to wave the Gumballers on, and on a couple of occasions whilst not in the company of a Gumballer the spectators waved at me probably due to my loud exhaust as I stuck it into 3rd and booted it past ever bridge to make as much noise as possible. This I cannot explain.

We finally got to the channel tunnel along with a few other members of the public to watch the Gumballers catch the train.
We went so far that we couldn't turn around and were temporarily stuck until we were then moved on by the plod.
We then drove to he nearest bridge to watch all the other Gumballers fly past.

The Orange Almera in the pictures bellow was also in the Convoy and we actually saw this car in
London whilst looking at the Gumball cars and by chance caught up with him on the motorway. Notice the huge flame from his exhaust!

The bottom picture is at channel tunnel when we were stuck with some other spectators.

This was one awesome day.

Videos to add later.

I know it may not be to everone's taste but I can appreciate the hard work and money that has gone into it.

No, its a 1.6 16v, but the engine is standard, so with a V6, and him with 18"s, i certainly hoped you not only beat him, but totally killed him........

iirc it's XE'd now chap - or at least it was when it was in Fast Car. nick is a legend - funniest person at most of the shows!

The flaming almera belongs to andy - sponsored by Fuel along with a smart Hyundai Coupe - iirc he's being sent around europe to various car shows. Legendary car anyway!

Cool pics chap :)

I was travelling back from Birmingham on Sunday evening and as we pulled off the M25 onto the A20 at Swanley I saw a yellow Gumball Corvette being stopped by the Police on the slip road going the other way.

Then on the A20 towards Chislehurst passed about 10-15 of the Gumball cars to with bunches of people on bridges / service stations too.

Talk about good timing lol.
