I'm purchasing a mk2 dash for my Nova GTE next week after butchering my mk1 to make a digidash fit!!

Is there any complications I should be aware of doing this conversion?

Also, the reason for doing this is so I can fit my digidash. Will it still fit the mk2 dash although i've filed off the top screw mount?

Other than wiring a different set of switches (easy enough)
is the heater controls aprently they are a abit of an arse if you use the mk1 heater matrix
and the mount at the bottom of the dash isn't there on the mk1's but deosn't really matter anyway

this is what ive picked up off people, but ive not done it personally

Not sure on the didgi dash bit, but the mk2 dash wil go in the mk1 with out any modyfying.

The digi dash should fit no probs, i hacked away a bit of the insulation to fit the screw bracket in then realised as i dont use it i might as well have filed it off. Just dont crack it like i did

I'm buying it off a company called Ultravaux who are specialist vauxhall breakers in Norwich. He said I could have the whole dash complete including heater ducts from being for around £50, if I remove it myself.

My local scrappie wanted to charge me £40 for a mk1 dash but I'd have to pay extra if I wanted the switches!!

This rewiring you speak of, is it simply a colour matching exercise?

you will need to wire your rear wiper to work off the stalks instead of on a switch

I think www.pngregion4.co.uk has a guide on doing this.
Several of my mates have done this and its quite easy i think-from what i have been told.

There's a few pics/details on the dash conversion. It's a bit brief at the moment, but gives you a good idea of the work involved

Benji was right, you'll need to fit Corsa/late Nova stalks (because the rear wiper is stalk controlled on the later Novas) - or you can do what I done, and remove the rear wiper totally!

The matrix is not too much of a prob, I did get a later matrix, but ended up slightly modifying the exsisting one to fit...

Cheers for all the info chaps, should be wuite good fun!

Starting pulling little bits apart tonight and it's quite disturbing!! Whoever wired up the alarm and immobiliser was an idiot. Most of the connections are done with selotape and there's there's fraid wire ends everywhere!

Rod the number for Ultravaux is 01603 614174 but its actually called !Innerlink, not sure where I got the Ultravaux from!

Dec is it difficult mating up the matrix then?
