Having got my car back from the garage my cav is currently idling at around 750rpm and orange EM light comes on. If I increase revs to a steady 850/900 the EM light goes out and the revs suddenly drop back to 750 without me taking my foot off the gas.

Does anyone have a clue what might be the problem??

if the ECU light is on for more than 30 seconds, it should store a fault codes. Try reading the codes for free with a paper clip. Read my guide at
