Right, I went to start my car today and the starter just clicks!!! I tried jump starting it with leads but no joy!!!
So we pushed it and bumped it off!!! But even when it had been running for while and I stopped it, it still wouldn`t turn over!!!

I`ve tested the current and when it is running its getting good voltage!!!

Got good voltage to Starter!!!

At 1st I thought it was dodgey starter motor but its only 4 weeks old!!! I then put the battery on a charger and flicked it to jump start!!! To my surprise it kicked over and started!!!

To me I think the battery is getting full volts BUT it doesn`t have enough energy to turn it over!!! Think the battery is knackered!!!

What do you think???

Pls help as car is going tomoz!!!

Check the earth lead between the battery and gearbox. A simple test is to attach a set of jump-leads, positive to the battery, negative to the engine.

Battery doesn't have enough current to supply the starter motor to spin over.

solution: recharge battery or fit new battery.

Batteries only seem to last for 3-4 years and their performance then drops off.
