personally i wouldn't bother because

a. for the amount of time and money spent you are going to gain bugger all

and more importantly

b. you'll have to replace the cat for every MOT otherwise it'll fail

if you really want to do it the pre 92 cav injections had a front silencer which should fit straight on :)

Just buy a de cat pipe , not that expensive about £50 and normally stainless . Yours is a J so you wont have to have the cat for the M.OT .
Saves changing it every year , my old K plate passed with a de cat pipe as K reg was what he called a ' grey ' year .

You don't have to do anything at all , the oxygen sensor is what a cat car has but this will make no difference .

I'm pretty sure that a c20 xe still made 150bhp though

Or the cheap free way to do it is to take the cat off, and beat the insides out with a big hammer and pole (Trolly jack handle works well ;))
