On cold mornings, my 1.4 8v astra starts fine, and i pull away, drive down the road and when i put the clutch down, it dies and is an absolute bugger to get started again. The engine is standard apart from k&n air filter. any ideas????????????????????

try replacing the temp sensor on the inlet manifold that was the problem with my old 1.4 and it was doing what you describe.
