I own one of these car booster/starter things, and was wondering if I could use this as a Battery Charger too, ie - Use the crocadile clips and connect to a spare car battery in the house, then plugging in the adaptor into the mains as you do to recharge the booster, would this recharge the spare battery too.?

The booster pack I have has an auto cut of when the booster is fully charged. I was wondering if this auto cut off would kick in after charging the said spare battery.?

Any clues.?

na i dont think so.

Charge packs deliver max power all the time so they would discharge quickly. Charging a battery takes little power but a lot of time.

You could try plugging the booster into the mains so charging that at the same time but i think you would end up boiling the battery acid which may cause an explosion when starting the car

Ok, cheers for that rumble.

Looks like I will have to get a Battery charger then too.

Some have a trickle charge function, have a look at classic car mags. They are usually full of these things and trickle chargers are popular in the clasic circles cos the cars sit a long time idle.
