as above really, i got a set of 17s which i hit a pothole with. it burst 2 tyres instantly and when i checked them out, the 2 rims on that side have big dents in them, making them not so round anymore.

is this kind of thing repairable? how much is it likely to cost if it is? also, are the tyres gonna be useless now? they were about 2 weeks old :(

cheers.

Low profile tyres do not like to be driven flat or even with low pressures in them,
Wheels can be repaired, I went to some respected places such as metal magic in Barnsley just to be turned away, but I found another place in york that repaired the cracked (big style) alloy to a as new finish.

Look around and dont take no as the absolute answer.

Just on a note.. when mine was knackered i actually got the crack welded and dent taken out by just an ordinary engineering place.
If you phone one of the smaller accident repair centres(the big ones just buy new alloys) then they might be able to pass you on to a local firm that they use to straighten/repair them... then all you need to do is either refinish it yourself or take it to a wheel place, assuming it needs refinishing.

I am making a claim to the council for two wheels and tyres at the mo. Feb 27th hit hole. Now uhh May, and it has been passed from Council to BT to Fujitsu communications to guy with shovel and tarmac down the buttie shop as he was the one that dug the frikkin hole and then didnt fill it properly (even then it took him 4 attempts).

The council are no longer dealing the claims them selves they just pass the buck as they are spending too much money on claims and so cant repair the roads sufficantly. I suppose I am lucky that I kept the steelies. Although ÂŁ500 down the drain for 2 Kahn RSR 17" with 700 mile old Uniroyal rainsport 1's. That doesn't include the fact that I just had to replace all 4 steelie tyres now and get the tracking done.

No not with a broken white line with a sold white line – by the look of the road markings it’s either on the brow of a hill that you cant see over, or there is a corner coming up (broken white line – close together *Danger* and not far apart from each other *Safe* with a solid white line – *no overtaking*)
