It didnt sound too great when it was moved over to the replacement gearbox but since ive been to Northampton and back it sounds terrible. Even tho my GSI has the 16v C20XE i was told it has the recessed clutch which means its a gearbox off job to change BUT can the release bearing be removed via the inspection plate without removing the gearbox?

You knew the bearing was dodgy, and didnt replace it when you had the gearbox off!

The bearing wasnt making any noise when the gearbox was replaced, im not so tight to not change a £15 bearing if i knew it was on its way out

I would have changed it if I knew It was gonna be dodgy when i put the gearbox back on but as im not psychic it would have been quiet difficult to know.
