Well seeing that the 0-60 for the Sri 130 engine in a MK2 is 8.5s, then the 15BHP lower engine in the heavier MK3 must be in the 9s. Though as you say, gearing could make the 0-60 better but not the overall acceleration better.
Still, it suggests that it's going pretty well.
My times go something like this:
20SER with Exhaust and air filter 16.2s
20SER with B+ head [email protected]
20SER with B+ head, lower final drive and weight loss: [email protected]
0-60 with same spec 7.3s
Currently its a bit lighter and making a tad more power (throttle sensor set up improved) so it should do 15s dead.
My acceleration calculator says that for me to make a 15.2s 1/4 mile then I should be capable of a 6.9s 0-60. So somewhere around 7s is possible. Bear in mind that I have to do 2 gear changes to get there.
F16CR has same ratios as F20 which means they can make 60 indicated in 2nd but in reality they can't quite make 60 in 2nd, so you add another 0.4s to get to 3rd gear.
SER is same as SEH. Sri 130 engine.
I have F16 CR. But I had different final drive fitted. Went from 3.55 to 3.9. Which means I have to change gear at lower speeds and can drive round town in 5th gear. Ish. Steady 80 on motorway went from 3800rpm to 4200rpm. They're low geared as standard really.
