I have, after picking up the car from service, blue smoke from the exhaust at cold starts (ie starting the car at mornings). I have not seen any smoke at all otherwise. The smoke also disappears immediatly, just a puff and it's gone. The engine is a Ecotec X20XEV sitting in a Opel Astra Sport -99 with around 60k miles.

Is it normal? What could it be? Too much oil? Too thin oil? Clogged up tubes?

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Just something which is on subject- How much oil could engine consume if it is valve seals? Say if they are seriosly wrecked, would engine smoke all the time and eat thru about 1 lit per 500 miles? Mineral 15/40 oil?
