Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what the sensor is in the front of the block under the engine mounting plate on the cam cover end.
It looks like the sensors for ABS!

If you mean just above the alternator it`s the temparature sensor for the ECU, if you mean on the front of the engine near the radiator hose it`s the sender for your temparature gauge!! (both are at the cambelt cover end of the engine)!

He means the crank shaft sensor.

Yeah, you forgot " and VERY expensive" Andy

I need to get a replacement as the alterantor belt was rubbing on it and has worn half the cable away. Surprised it hasnt popped a code up yet. Its all cable tied and taped till I get round to it.

Well I just picked up a Crankshaft Position Sensor for under £30 from a supplier called Vaux All Parts based in North west, telephone this guy called Tony on 0845 1668065, prompt delivery, the sensor is made by the original manufacturer i.e. Siemens.
