in the main oil gallery after the oil pump.

is that below the water pump on the back of the block, as there are 2 allen key grub screws.
They appear to be bigger that the sender unit

well i'm very sorry the sender you have isnt the right size ! yes the two allen grub screws, the thread size is M14x1.5. you can get adapters or senders in that size.
