AMD Athlon XP 1700+ processor socket a , this is the redesigned core cpu, so runs much cooler along with a copper silent heatsink and fan

also a Gigabyte KT266A mb, MB works with ddr266 or faster mem, built in creative 5 channel audio, built-in network card, thats off top of my head, will get full spec if anyone wants it, decent motherboard

cpu unused, motherboard has been used, and is in full working condition, nothing wrong with it, just bought a pentium 4 instead, lol

both for £90, or sensible offers, buyer pays postage

Motherboard Specs at:
http://www.giga-byte.com/products/7vtxh.htm

Information on Cooler at:
http://www.checkmate.gr/benchmark/newtests/cbk58.htm

The Athlon is a Thoroughbred B class Athlon XP (tray & thermal paste provided), and from what I've seen, runs at about half the temperature of the older Palamino Athlon XP range (I bought the same thing recently for the PC, it's been much more stable, overclocks like crazy, and I've been able to disable most fans).

On the MB website it says it officially supports up to 266MHz FSB, so it should support up to at least the 2400+ Athlons, though I don't see why even the latest 3000+ CPU wouldn't work. (Since it's 266 x Multiplier = Clock speed, Multiplier could be any number specified within BIOS).
