Hi could do with a bit of help. I've found a cheap astra van 1.7 diesel. But the small information is that oil cooler has been bypassed or something and some oil is on the water 100% head gasket is sound. It's only £200 is it worth buying or am I buying a tin can cheers.

Oil coolers can fail, some people do bypass them. If its been flushed out properly the oil and water should be both be clean if the HG is ok. Worth a good look over and test drive before you commit.

Cheers are they easy to replace

Not easy to access as the inlet is in the way, but around £80 for a new one I believe. If it's bypassed properly it shouldn't need to be replaced, the 1.7 doesn't really get very hot anyway if driven normally, especially in this country.
