there were a limited run of astras on R plates (i believe) which had gsi kit etc, but what were they called (eg sport?)what should it say on the v5 for one of these and how can i check a genuine one?
what were the spec of them and how do they compare to the earlier j,k,l and m platers? :beer:

They were called GSI cos they were a GSI with Irmscher skirts and wheels.

Had aircon no t/c and 136bhp Eco engine.

Basically a soft GSi. Still cannot beat the early GSi

Identical to the Sport model, only with silghtly different colour-coded bumpers and side skirt. Fitted with the 134 bhp Ecotec engine.
Not as good as original 150bhp GSi.

Air con was optional, with alternative being a nice sun roof just like mine lmao

Was introduced to help Vauxhall get rid of the last of the Mk111s.

lowered 25mm revised shock absorbers uprated springs and anti rolbar.
diffrent body kit and spoiler
diffrent alloy wheels
avalible in flame red,glacier white,diamond black and ceramic blue


no bonnet vents and traction control

Are they different bumpers to an earlier GSi?
Didnt some GSi's come with a 1.8 engine?

Different skirts, rear spoiler is more like a corsa gsi item and no leccy mirrors as standard.

yes there was a 1.8 GSI, towards the end of the XE run.

1.8s had no front fogs.
front and rear bumpers are the same on phase 1 and 2's
