just exploring options at the mo , i really need to sort out some kind of carb fueling for my 20seh engine ,
i cant afford those damn weber twin 40s .

so i was looking at some cheap R1 carbs .

but not knowing much about fitting them ive got lots of questions about it .

what jet sizes would you use in them for a 2 liter ?

if i didnt re-jet it strait away would the engine run reasonable enough for a 300 mile drive?

how to connect the throttle and choke cables up ?

if anyones fitted them before some advise would be great ....cheers all:)

throttle cable goes to the throttle pedal? choke you need to wire to a pull somewhere, but i would just leave it with some kind of handle under the bonnet, from what I hear you can just pump the accelerator in most situations youd need to use the joke.

you should start with 150 (1.5mm) jets and work up from there. you can drill your jets with small bits (maplin sell em i think) and with 150s you will be running good enough for your 300 mile drive. i have some r1 carbs for sale cheap, £100 gets you the carbs delivered with the inlet trumpets that cost me £5 each).
