well it looks looks like im going to try fitting a older 1.3 box, i do no the clutchs are different! flywheel?? drive shafts??
does your old gearbox, look like this inside ?
pinion gear teeth munched, from knackered bearings.

i believe they use the F17 gearbox.
the diesels usually have a longer final drive ratio, compared to the petrol variants (3.55 and 3.74), but being only a little 1.3, it would probably drive fine on a petrol variant (3.94) as well, just might rev a bit higher at motorway speeds.

youll have to check the numbers on your old box, to see the ratio's.
you might have to swap over the linkage bracket and slave cylinder, from your old box, to match the cars pipework.

hi hanks for reply, not had the gearbox in bits, all the casings smash, but the maine shaft is a 22 spline!
looks like the pinion bearings probably shit itself, and blown bits through its recess seat.

apparently, somewhat of a common issue with those. im not sure why, maybe there was a bad batch of bearings, from one of the factorys, or something.
