i have a 1400 nova SR, and am planning on fitting twin 40s + tubular manifold. the thing is, i managed 2 get hold of the inlet and exhaust maniflds cheap (and new), but they r 4 the 1300 SR. iver been thold the 1300 ports are bigger, so will i neesd 2 do some head work, or will it work fitting it straight on? if any one has pics of the 2 different ports, that would be great.
a mechanic told me the mismatch may give good torque. good advice, or not???

think you will find the 1400 has square ports and the 1300 has round ones, or the other way around, either way they are different

What jamie_F said is correct :)
You'd be best with the 1400 inlet manifold to keep the ports the same shape. Having different shaped ports on the manifold to the head would interfer with the flow too much.
Pretty sure the exhaust manifold will fit no trouble though.

Cheers,

you cant really mod it to fit because its not just the shape thats different

the 1300 ports go straight in central to the valve , the 1400 head ports are to one side
