just bought a 1.6 mk3 astra as i wanted something nicer than my 1 litre corsa, anyways i thought i would see how good it was at the top end, got to 70 slightly bumpy thought nothing of it, 80 getting alot worse now, 90, seriously bad, 100 couldnt control the car really. Whats wrong? would it be the bearing? or something simple like the tracking?

Reason I ask about the wheels (rather than the tracking) is that when I bought my Astra it had 17" Momo Arrows on it and one (un-beknown to me) had a flat spot on the inside of the rim from a pot-hole. Any speed 70mph or above was like a bone-shaker and a nightmare to control. At 100mph it was impossible.

Have you got "rotation" tyres? Are they on the right side of the car?
Check for play in the wheel bearings by shaking the wheel at the 3/9 o'clock and 12/6 o'clock positions.
