VX Racing displayed outstanding race performances despite difficult weather conditions in today’s round 13, 14 and 15 of the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Croft, North Yorkshire.
The Luton-based manufacturer took a brilliant race win in race three thanks to a stunning drive from Fabrizio Giovanardi behind the wheel of the Vectra VXR. Matt Neal added to the glory with three podium positions.
The team continues to dominate the BTCC Drivers’, Manufacturers’ and Teams’ Championship following its most successful points’ weekend of the season to date.
Race one - The reigning BTCC Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Champions secured its first podium position of the day with Neal finishing in second in a chaotic and wet first race.
The race was started in extremely difficult conditions with the inevitable red flag being shown on the third lap, due to an incident involving two cars.

With its groundbreaking design and sophisticated technology, the new Insignia takes Vauxhall’s new-found design language to another level. The premium styling of the new five-seater – initially available in hatchback and saloon guise – clearly defines Vauxhall’s philosophy of making advanced technology and attractive design affordable.
The Insignia boasts a flowing, powerful silhouette with a coupé-like roofline. The body’s sculpted shape is accented by sweeping front and rear light designs and enhanced by a bold radiator grille with a new-look Vauxhall emblem. A distinctive “blade” feature runs from behind the front wheel along the side of the car, further emphasising its taut and rakish lines.

Long established as the face of the marque, Vauxhall’s Griffin will be given a new look for 2008. The new incarnation follows the rapid progress Vauxhall has made in vehicle design and overall brand perception in recent years, underpinned by the success of both Astra and Corsa models.
Displaying a more dynamic and contemporary look, Vauxhall's new Griffin will make its first appearance on the new Vauxhall Insignia, which will debut at the British International Motor Show in July. It will then appear progressively on every all-new Vauxhall launched in the future.

Vauxhall/Opel are preparing to unveil their latest show car at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show next month. The Meriva Concept is their study for what form the next Euro minivan could take.
The Meriva Concept, as previewed by a concept sketch (attached), and draws on the previous GTC Coupe and Flextreme concepts and applies the theme to a monocab form, a segment in which Opel and Vauxhall account for one fifth of continental sales between the Zafira, Meriva and Agila MPVs. Expect the Meriva Concept to preview the direction that GM's European tall wagons will take in the near future.

There are plenty of hot hatches on the market, but it’s the Astra VXR that’s the undisputed Ring leader… and to prove it, Vauxhall has pulled the wraps off the Nurburgring edition, named after the car’s spiritual home, where much of its pre-production development was carried out.
Based on the standard Astra VXR and priced at £20,995, each individually numbered Nurburgring edition will come with an exclusive all-white paint finish and lightweight white 18-inch alloy wheels, equipped with bespoke Dunlop tyres, are also specified. Other exterior features include dark tinted windows, carbon fibre effect mirrors and B-pillars and distinctive chequered flag body graphics, to further emphasise the car’s incredible performance.

The latest addition to the New Corsa line-up, the SRi revives one of the best known hot hatch monikers in a package that offers incredible levels of driving excitement, great looks and affordability. Designed to appeal to buyers who don’t need all the hardcore thrills of the VXR but still appreciate style and sharp driving dynamics, the SRi looks set to further broaden the appeal of the Corsa range.

The MPV-style concept showcases the very latest development of GM’s E-Flex architecture, first previewed on the Chevrolet Volt Concept unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
The Flextreme uses the same electric hybrid drive system seen on the Volt, but coupled to a 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine rather than the Volt’s petrol power unit. Using an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery, the Flextreme is capable of a range of up to 55km on electric power alone – a range well within the needs of most European daily commuters, meaning they can travel to work and back without using any diesel or creating any CO2 emissions.
The 1.3-litre diesel engine is based on the award-winning CDTi found in Corsa and Astra, and is not connected to the wheels. Instead, the engine charges the batteries when they are empty and no plug-in facility is available, thereby extending the operating range.
