dont think i will be able to come now cos both my front calipers are knackered and im not likely to be able to replace them between now and then . I know of somewhere that has some but i wont be able to get them cos im working all day tomorrow and i dont think they'll be open on sunday morning

Its alright. Thanks for the thought anyway. I might be able to make it but it all depends on whether Vaux Plus are open on sunday morning, whether they have suitable calipers and whether i can get it sorted in time.

Well it was quite a good turn out 12 people (13 with Nova X's little un) and a 8 cars i think, though I was in the old dears again due to absence of metal in the sill dept, I vow to attend the next in my own car.

Freak had a camera on his phone though I don't think he took any of the cars, too cold, wet and raining. A couple of rides were partaken in a couple of cav turbos, AndyK (imminent new turbo and Phase 3 , stop denying it ) took me out for a blast which was good.

I also learn't something about AFM and different ECU's on GTE 16v vs GSi's, which was nice.

next time kidda, how did/are you getting on with those calipers. If I were you and if you've got a bit of time I would rebuild the ones you have as its dead easy, seals are cheap and you know they are done right and will last for years then. I did it on both my nova and my astra, complete with a fluid change on the straaa lead to better braking and more confidence from me. Is everything else fixed now?

    No I didn't

You know how lazy I am. I would be surprised if I had one this time next year.

After Dan's comments yesterday i pressure tested the boost pipes inside the car. No leaks.

I did the dump valve pipes and FPR pipes as well. Ok.

It must be the standard dump valve or a gasket somewhere.

I want to take the turbo and maybe inlet off sometime

As I pointed out yesturday, I am no where near an expert with turbo's, infact my turbo opinions are somewhere near worthless. Did sound more in cabin that I would have expected but thats means nothing, was plenty quick enough anyway I didn't go out in Pete's so can't really compare.

It was worth a go cus in Pete's you don't hear all that air rushing around/leaking.

And I'm sure mine never used to do it.

The calipers aint in that good condition. Im hopefully gonna be buying a set of calipers, disc's and pads off RDS so that should sort me probs.
