    Smile Back in a Vauxhall.

After 8 months of owning no Vauxhalls, we have seen the light and swapped the Audi!

Picked this up last weekend, Astra Twintop Exclusive XP, 16K on the clock, 1.9CDTi. Drives really nice, obviuosly not as quick as the Audi but the best part of 50mpg makes up for that, lets you have more fun before the computer kicks in too. Must admit I like being back in a Vauxhall, just seems familiar and right! Never had a convertable before either, strange sensation driving with the roof down, I think I like it.

Better pics to follow this weekend:

Already swaped the panel filter for a Courtney one and sent a V grill in for painting. Future plans are minimal tbh, but it will get the black backed headlights, a strut brace to aid with roof down wobble, a damn good detailing and finally a Map from Car Scan. This is a black code map, very similar to the map provided by superchips, 185bhp, watch this space for a MIG discount from Car Scan.

Well done on the long awaited return!

Friend had one of these and had countless issues with the room not closing properly, lots of warrenty work later and all was good. Yours ok?

those twintops are a bad choice for problems, No end of roof trouble with them and the sensors.

    Re: Back in a Vauxhall.

No problems as of yet, touch wood. Roof`s been up and down alot too. Still has 11 months of Factory warrenty to go at just incase.
We read lots of reviews regarding the issues with them online, part of the main reason we opted for an Audi in January, this turned out to be one of the mosty un-relaible and accdident prone cars wev`e ever owned. Took this as lesson, doesn`t really matter what you buy, some cars are relaible, some aren`t. Also, I spend all day talking to garages, the feedback on the 1.9CDTi is very different from them, compared to online forums.

Bottom line we`ll just suck it and see, at least it won`t have to go back to dealer everytime someone sneezes in it, unlike the audi!

Althought my feedback is online, I work as a mechanic so my feedback can be counted as garage feedback and not just forum
