Provisional Idea - RR day next March.

Right, a few peeps have been saying they would like a rolling road day sorting but are not part of a club that has anything planned, so we`ve come up with a sort of plan.

A multi-club Rolling road day, no magazines and nothing flashy. Open to any make of car.

Would most likely be on the 28th Feb / 7th March next year, and will be held at Mikeanics rolling road in Congelton. Mikeanics is quite an old set up compared to the likes of dyno dynamics etc, but because of this the price is cheap, would be somewhere around £20 per car. Just an excuse for a random bunch of car nuts to meet up really! Also 2 min drive to Maccys!

Prizes will be given for Most powerfull: Turbo / NA over 2.0 / NA under 2.0 / Diesel. Please not prizes will be small and worthless (Pot noodels?).

Ok so I did say this was provisional right! Have spoken to Mikeanics tody and his pricing and availablility have changed drastically since the last time we were there.
Saturday morning only, 6-12 cars, £25+vat for 2WD, £40+vat for 4WD. 350bhp fwd limit, 450bhp 4wd limit. This doesn`t leave us with much space and is quite expensive for the facilities offered.

So I`ve spent most of today ringing around every rolling road within a 50 mile radius, and have narrowed our options down to these:

Mike Evans Motorsport - Shrewsbury.
15-30 cars. 1500bhp limit. Would have to be Sunday 1st / 8th March. £40 per car.

Awesome GTI - Irlam, Nr Manchester.
10-25 cars. 3 runs per car. £35 for 2wd, £40 for 4wd. Saturay 7th March.

Dyno Demon - Nr to Chester.
15-30 cars. £35 per car for 20+cars. £40 for 15-20. SAturday 28th feb/ 7th march.


All these three are big modern locations, good facilitys. Satte of the art rollers etc, with nice print outs. Mike evans` is the smallest outfit and sounded eager to please. Awesome is the biggest and is well established, sounded very profesional. Dyno demons seem good going on the response from the resent scooby RR day held there.

What do people reckon? See what peeps say and then try and decide on a location by the end of next week.
