If you allow me to explain.

MIG as a club has 3rd party insurance which covers meets and events. If a member or forum user organises a meet then its not covered by the clubs insurance. Originally meets we there for members of the club not just forum users. Its got nothing to do with Red Fonters and tbh people seem to sensationalise it to make it into something to moan about.

There's nothing pathetic about a club with paid up members wanting to meet up. If Non-members are invited it will be upto the RC organising the event and not a Red Font Members or Blue Font Forum User.

Many other clubs operate this system too so please don't go off on one when its common practice both on the net and in the real world where clubs have a paid membership.

No need to reassess what I've written Steve. You're fully aware of that but always choose to post nonsense. What I've posted in reply to namkeaps is an accurate explanation of how the clubs meets have been organized since day one.

People seem to forget that the forum and club are two different entity's. There are members who attend meets and shows that never come on the forum. Thats the point of belonging to a club. As I stated above its not members only, just up to the RC's if its open to all. There's nothing wrong with that.

But the point being is:

If an RC wants it to be a "Closed" meet, how the hell would he "STOP" a forum member from attending?

Hence me saying in an earlier post....

p.s. Are you coming along?

No Steve. Why do you always have to TRY and be a smart arse.

This subject was posted by a member NOT an RC as follows..

The Facts, even though I'll regret posting them as you'll only try and post something that involves a or a or maybe a or hell numerous combinations of them.

Members can arrange none MIG approved meets till the cows come home.
MIG meets arranged by RC's etc are open to either members only or a mixture or members/forum users at the RC discretion.
You will reply to this in your usual nonsensical way.

Re: Midlands and N.W get together?

In the six years I have been attending MIG events, never once has there been a "members only meet" In fact at the west mids events we have always made welcome people that aren`t even on the board or even drive Vauxhalls! OP is absolutely bang on with what he has said though, if the meet is not done officially through a Co-Ord then their will be no third party insurance to cover it. Also in recent years, gatherings of more than a few cars in certain areas can land people with ASBOS, again an offically organised event should prevent this.

To the original post, I think its a cracking idea Allvaux, done in the right way, come up with a good idea and then get it organised properly. Although I may not be co-ord by then i will most definatly be attending!

Most clubs are like that, because usually the meet sorting out etc is done in forums only club members can see......
