    wheel spraying

i have just had a set of alloys shotblasted and am now primering them ready for spraying
i am using tins of bodyline grey primer but im not sure if it is up to the job do you need a special primer for wheels because of the heat generated or will standard stuff do the job no problem

if it aint broke, dont fix it !!!!!!

I've just had mine re-done courtesay of the Kwik-fit group, but when I spoke to the professionals, the bloke at the painters quoted that he would use 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of colour before he laquered them. This primer would be more concentrated than your cans so I would double (at least) the number of coats.

Better still find a mate with a compressor and spray them that way.

You should really use an etching primer for the wheels as they are alloy.

Ben Copeland will give you more details as he's refurbed all his alloys himself.
