Help purchasing a MIG welder and Air compressor?

    Hi folks,

Now I have my own house/garage. I want to get A good tool collection. Also, I want to do more of my own work, like welding etc

I'm going to purchase a new MIG welder, and an air compressor.

MIG - to be used to stitch weld my Nova, fit panels, and general car welding. Can people recommend the best type of welder for the jobs?

Air Compressor - to be used for air tools and paint spraying. Can people tell me the minimum sized tank it should have and HP motor for this type of work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Keith

mig welder i used for my astra is a sealey supermig 220 at the time it was the biggest single phase they did ! you would be fine with a sealey 185 autostar tho i just got the biggest one as i used mine on the farm aswell

get a compressor with the biggest tank you can afford last thing you want is to run out of air half way though a panel mine was a 3 phase 5.5hp 250 ltr tank now ive not got the farm tho i have a single phase 2hp 50 ltr which will just about run my paint gun (devilbiss HVLP) 1 panel at a time but the comp is running all the time
