    4 link suspension

I have a question out of curiosity. Can one built a 4 link setup or ladder bars into a kadett body to change it to rwd as you would in a normal rwd car.

if you’re handy enough with a welder and some sheet metal then i see no reason why not, will be a faff around with the fuel tank location etc i would think, but very possible

The tank is not a problem as this will be for drags. So the side plates of the body will be strong enough for the 4 link or will I need to weld in additional support like "boxing" the body where the 4 link will be welded in. I don't want to put in too much weight. Also steering wise, will the rwd gearbox fit under the steering or must I modify this to rack and pinion. Don't have trouble re cutting and modifying the tunnel.

Have a look at some websites like this, it's my cousins business and work there fabricating shells and parts when I have time (not my full time job). Look at the parts section too, I might give you an idea of what's used and how.

That is great workmanship. I basically know what to do, is just to do that first cut and knowing that there is no going back.

    thats only two link

the issue i see is the kadett hangs its rear suspension off the 2mm box chassis rails that run down the outter edges of the shell. the beam is mounted there, the spring platforms are there.

what you are aiming to do is move the trailing arms inboard to the flimsy floor panel above the fuel tank, below the rear seats. which is ok, but bare minimum it would need to be tied into the outter rails, or roll cage depending what you are doing.
