    Tigerseal/Sikaflex on Engine Mounts?

My engine is currently out of the car waiting to go into the Donor, I'm debating whether to fill the brand new mounts with Sikaflex/Tigerseal to make them stronger as the old rear Gearbox mount off the F25 that was in there is Worn out after about 1-2 years...

Vauxhall Calibra... Its a 3.0ltr engine newly mated to a F28...

    Has anyone done this?

Will it cause alot of Vibrations and is it an alright idea?

Yes you feel the vibrations, but tbh you'll stop noticing it by the time your at the bottom of the road, i did. Now its just normal.

Mine have been filled about about 3years, great thing to do. Removed almost all movement, with out being the totally solid ones you can by.

    Hi benn,

Cheers for the insight, you get vibrations on idle in a Calibra anyway, just worried about any nasty rattles or noises from the engine bay I guess. Anyone experienced that?

The car is used back and fore to work and on trips on the weekends, but I'm thinking its going to last alot longer if I do it all now when its on the palet 8)

The engine vibrates thru the car yes. But i found after 5mins of driving you where used to it and forgot about it...

I found this a good compromise between std and solid mounts, did it on my nova. (soild mounts are exactly that, FAR too hard for a road car)

I packed the rear 'box mount on my Astra with big nuts (bolt type lol), then sealed it all up with Tigerseal. Didn't do the front ones, but engine movement is pretty much non existent now, and still nice to drive everyday!.

Did all three on my old 1.6 Nova and it felt great, more vibration damping than proper solid ones and less engine rocking than untouched, win win.

I did it on my old mounts, worked a treat didn't really notice massive amounts of vibrations compared to my solids now, but only feel them on idle tbh
